A group such as Sheeq does not arrive by accident, nor do its members arrive at a high level of skills and talents overnight. Sheeq's history shows how this group's personnel of three talented female singers / songwriters / performers / dancers has arrived at the point of being ready to attack the world music industry with their unique style of music and 'lyrics-with-meaning'. Shaped from a fusion of cultures including Australian, Italian, Greek, Spanish and Filipino, Sheeq don't only stand strong as individuals but also as a unit, with three distinctive personalities, styles and influences rolled into one. There is a depth to Maria, Carla and Tia that belies their youth.
Sheeq's development began in June 2002 and has progressed as both a personal journey and professional development. In order to reach today's outstanding performance level, Maria, Carla and Tia gave up normal school to do home schooling, in order to have the time to write songs and further their musical career. Performances followed, at professional sporting events such as the NBL and National Soccer League games, where Sheeq presented their unique forms of anthems and entertainment. More performances followed, notably with artists such as Guy Sebastian; there were centre-stage shows in shopping centres, corporate functions, charity and community events, a'capella shows, nightclub performances and more. In addition, they have developed their song writing technique and have individually and collectively written a catalogue of over 50 songs
in the past year. More than anything else, this development has made Sheeq extraordinarily versatile.
In October 2005, Sheeq identified their producer of choice, Israel and his Elite Fleet production team. Sheeq moved from Adelaide to Melbourne and began to write with him, producing songs about their life experiences as well as those of the people around them. Addressing issues in their music, with a sound offering incredible appeal to their audiences, Sheeq have the talent and drive to achieve! They have the performance, the style and the image for a diverse audience.

When comparing songs from their album, such as Angel, with its Byzantine, melodic tune and heartfelt lyrics as opposed to the contagious, club track, Lights Out , the diversity of Sheeq's album becomes very apparent.
